Beach Chair Guest Book

What a better way to end our obsession with beach weddings this week than with the perfect guest book idea - Beach Chairs as a Guest Book!

Beach Chair Guest Book via Emmaline Bride
Find the perfect chairs from your favorite store, make sure they're ones that you'll actually use, and place them out at your wedding. Guests can use white sharpie markers to sign with. After your wedding, coat the chairs with a clear protectant to seal in the signatures for years and years to come!

Every time you sit on them, you'll be able to remember your wedding and all your loved ones that celebrated with you that special day. It's truly a guestbook that won't be collecting dust on a bookshelf somewhere!

Wouldn't you love these as a great wedding keepsake?

DIY Starfish Boutonieres

Did you love this starfish boutoniere in Monday's post as much as I did?

Starfish Boutonierre

I love the simple elegance that they add to any tux or suit. They make a perfect beachy accent to any bridal party.

Here's directions for how to create these beautiful boutoniere's yourself that we found on Style Me Pretty:

Starfish Boutonieres via Style Me Pretty
All you need are the starfishes, one inch pins, and a strong glue (they used cement glue from a hardware store).

You just apply the glue to the back of the starfish and some to the back of the pin and press together, leaving them to dry pin-up.

I don't think you could find a easier or quicker DIY project!

What do you think?

Beachy Inspirations

The unseasonably hot weather we've been enjoying here in Florida has me skipping right past spring and wishing for summer!

To put you in the mood for warm weather and cool sands too, here's an inspiration board for a beautiful beach wedding:

Bridesmaid Necklaces, Beach Sign, Boutonniere, Aisle Decor, Cake,
Hair, Bridesmaids and Flowers, Centerpiece

I love how fresh and breezy pale yellow mixed with white and beige looks. The pops of pink really stand out against this color palette and make for great accents.

Are you considering a beach wedding? What beachy elements are you planning to use in your event?

Using Carnations Beautifully

Carnations are so often passed up for use in weddings in favor of more glamorous options - but they shouldn't be! I'm here to stand up for carnations everywhere and tell you that when used right, they can create beautiful bouquets, centerpieces and decor at your wedding.

Carnation Bouquet
They are a great inexpensive option that really give you that full and soft look. I love the mix of textures in this bouquet!

DIY Dip-Dye Ribbons

Following up on our ombre' wedding inspirations from Monday, here is another fantastic idea for how to incorporate this effect into your wedding details.

Dip-Dyed Ribbon via Ruffled

Take a look at this amazing, and completely do-able, technique I came across on Ruffled. With just some white cotton fabric, cloth dye or fabric paint, and some dipping dishes, you're in business!

Technique via Ruffled
By just varying the thickness of fabric, amount of water in the dye, and the length of time you let the fabric soak, the possibilities are endless for the different effects you can create.

Use the ribbon on ceremony programs, favor ties, escort card accents, or even as the perfect detail for your bouquets or wedding cake.

Shannon & Chris

New Year's Eve wouldn't have been the same without Shannon & Chris for us this year! We had the privilege of coordinating their wedding and loved doing it! They are super sweet and such a wonderful couple together.

I wanted to share with you some of these great images from their day by Russell Martin Photography!

Their ceremony took place at the Baughman Center in here Gainesville with their reception at the UF Hilton. They are huge horse lovers and carried that theme throughout their special day.

Being big Gator fans as well, they couldn't resist heading over to the Swamp to take a few pictures! How cute are they?!

My favorite detail to talk about was their cake topper! It was a perfect fit for them as a couple and really represented their new life together. It's engraved "Two Trails Become One..."

Thanks to all the other vendors who made it such a fun night: Ms Debbie's Sugar Art for a beautiful cake and Mike Collins from Wayne's World Entertainment for great music!

After the reception the party headed over to ring in the new year with a big bonfire at their barn - the perfect way to end the night!

Congratulations again Shannon & Chris!
