DIY Wedding Garter

Our golden rule of DIY and weddings is pick projects that you can complete way in advance and don't take hours upon hours to complete. There are tons of little projects brides can do that won't take up too much of your time and will really add unique touches to your big day!

Here is one DIY project we found featured in "The Bridal Guide" magazine that we fell in love with. It's a simple 4-step guide on how to make your own wedding garter.

Materials you'll need...
  • Stretchy, lace ribbon
  • Rhinestone appliqué
  • Needle and thread
  • Hot fix rhinestones and rhinestone setter or iron (optional)

Step 1: Cut the Lace

DIY Garter Step 1
  • Make sure the lace you buy is stretchy so it won't fall down your leg.
  • Measure the lace before you cut — the final product can also be worn as a headband, so measure accordingly.

Step 2: Sew

DIY Garter Step 2

  • Find the center point of the lace.
  • Sew on the appliqué.
  • It's also a great place to incorporate your "something blue" or "something borrowed"

Step 3: Add Rhinestones (Optional)

DIY Garter Step 3

  • Arrange the hot fix rhinestones around the appliqué.
  • Once you finalize your design, set with an iron or rhinestone setter.

Step 4: Finish Up

DIY Garter Step 4

  • Turn the lace inside out and sew together.

Finished Product!!!

How BEAUTIFUL is this??!! It's so easy to customize and would be such a neat and special unique touch!

Hearts and Weddings

Since we were little girls, we've been drawing hearts around our crushes names and dotting our "i's" with this little symbol of LOVE. It's a symbol that every girl is obsessed with at some age, so why not incorporate them into your big day that is all about love!

We found these more grown-up, but still cute and unique ways to use hearts in your wedding ceremony!

Heart Aisle Liners
How adorable are these paper hearts down the aisle!?  Who knew they could make such impact on a ceremony? What an easy and fun way to add a little pop of color. These are not your average aisle decor!

Or how about this idea to fancy up the walkway to your outdoor ceremony? They used sidewalk chalk to draw hearts all along the path. We love this!

Little details like these can really add to your wedding without breaking your budget and make great photo-op's during the day!

Salt & Pepper Favors

We found this amazing idea on The Wedding Chicks' Blog and had to tell you about it! It's such a fun idea and a really unique way to include your family and friends in your wedding plans.

Salt & Pepper Sign via The Wedding Chicks
Friends and family of the couple helped them collect unique, quirky, and fun salt & pepper shaker sets throughout their engagement. By their wedding day, they had enough to use as favors at the wedding!

The sign reads: "Find a 'Perfect Pair' and find your seat! Put your name under any pair of S&P shakers that you want and they are yours to take home at the end of the night!"

We love that they doubled as escort cards and that each guest got to pick their favorite pair to take home with them. You just know that every time they use them, they'll remember how much fun they had at the wedding.

They even found this adorable Bride and Groom Owl Shaker Set for their cake topper! How cute!!!

Bridesmaid Gift Ideas - Day Three

Becoming a bridesmaid is an honor that can sometimes be overwhelming, but in the end, it's an incredible experience that brings friends even closer then they already are.

A great gift idea to help bridesmaids eliminate the stress of keeping track of the wedding festivities is a  planner! This is also a unique way to ask women to be your bridesmaids. Write it on the inside of the planner and mark the BIG DAY in each of their calendars!

What girl wouldn't love a cute planner to help them organize not only your wedding events, but also the rest of their year!

Bridesmaid Gift Ideas - Day Two

Day two of our "all about bridesmaids" week! Brides have come up with such adorable gift ideas, and we wanted to share some of them with you!

Give bridesmaid's comfy monogrammed shorts to wear with an over-sized button down while getting ready. Make the shorts and monograms match your wedding colors. What a great way to give your bridesmaids something they use all the time and remember your wedding day!

Wedding Shorts
We love this idea too - personalized pearl and initial necklaces surrounded by a gold eternity circle. This is a beautiful gift that your bridesmaids can wear all the time and symbolizes that your friendship with each woman will last a lifetime.

Bridesmaid Gift Ideas

There's a reason why you chose specific girls as your bridesmaids to stand by your side on your special day. Although no one can ever come close to the love of your life, girlfriends are irreplaceable and showing them how much they mean to you is very important.

This week's inspiration is all about these wonderful women in your life, and some creative and cute ways we found to show them how special they are to you. So check out these great finds for fun gifts for your maids!

Give your bridesmaids clutches filled with a schedule, thank you notes, lip gloss, disposable camera, and candy to keep the energy up! Such a cute idea!

Who says they have to be the same? Pick out the perfect style to match each of your girls' personalities. They'll think of you every time they grab it to take along on a fun girls night out!

Or how about personalized tumbler cups to use when getting ready on the big day? The straw is perfect for keeping make-up and lipstick intact and the lids will prevent any spills.

Ring Security!

Holy Cow! How cute is this?!

Cute Ring Bearer via Style Me Pretty
I am completely loving this for a cute little Ring Bearer!!!

If it's too casual for the wedding day, consider it for the rehearsal. You'd make any little "big guy" feel like they are the most important VIP with a job title like this (not to mention put a smile on all your guests faces)!

What do you think? Need a little extra security help on your wedding day?

Wedding Cake Game

Cutting the cake is a big deal at any wedding reception. Guests gather around to see if the couple will play nice or get a little dirty when feeding each other the first bite of their cake. Why not engage them in this decision?

Wedding Cake Game

Have two champagne glasses labeled with the bride's name on one and the groom's name on the other. Guest can put money into either glass, and who ever has the most by the time the cake is cut, gets the cake in the face! For a brave couple - what a fun game for guests during the reception!

What do you think about this game? Would you incorporate it into your wedding? Are you playing nice or getting dirty? :)
