  3. Using my Mom's veil but updating it to match my style

  4. Instead of having disposable cameras on the tables, we're having a photobooth with Star Wars props. Also our table names are Star Wars characters instead of numbers and our guest book is a photo book made from our Star Wars engagement photos.

  5. We are doing a bench for all our guest to sign instead of a book that way it can be displayed in our home and not just stuffed away in a box or closet! We do not want to have a stuffy cookie cutter wedding and this is just one of our many ideas that will make our wedding unique

  6. I love the Summer every thing about summer (I am a august baby how could I not) So for our summer wedding we are having a special treat for our guests SNOW CONES! We will have regular snow cones and "Adult" snow cones at the cocktail hour! It is one of my favorite ideas we have come up with!

  7. I like the "something old, new, blue and borrowed" although I'm heavily into the "Something Old". My engagement ring is 70 years old (fiance's grandmother's), my veil will be my mother's and we just recently found my grandmother's garter that I'll put around my bouquet...elastic just isn't as stretch 50 years later. :)

  8. We're using music from our favorite movies, tv shows and even video games during different parts of the ceremony!

  9. I've seen a cute "flower girl" variation, where the kids were holding a "Here comes the Bride" sign instead of tossing petals. Great for picky venues!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Oh, and instead of bouquets, we're planning on carrying lanterns (so I'll have to find something else to toss, I guess!)

  12. I recently saw an adorable choreographed father-daughter dance, and now my dad and I are thinking about doing something similar, instead of the traditional slowdance.

  13. We're going with fall leaves instead of rose petals for our flower girl, for our beginning-of-fall wedding!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Here's a frugal idea we took advantage of: make your rsvps postcards instead of notecards and you can save on postage!

Plus, it makes it quicker and easier to organize them when they start coming back in the mail!

    ReplyDelete
  15. We are also having a "leaf" girl instead of a flower girl since it's a fall wedding!

    ReplyDelete

  18. My finance and I are not having wedding attendants. We want the wedding small and personable so it will be only us at the alter. I am looking forward to ordering some candy from your company for our favors.

  19. Instead of apple cider for the non-drinking guests, we will be offering berry punch from the place where we met.

    ReplyDelete
  20. We're getting married in Colorado, but our favors are little truffles that are to die for...a little flavor from back home!

    ReplyDelete
  21. We couldn't fit this into the budget, but I LOVE some of the alternative guestbooks that are out there. I've seen polaroid/photobooth ones, where guests take a picture, put it in the guest book, and write a note, and I've seen typewriter guestbooks, too, where guests are just invited to type whatever messages they have to the bride/groom on a vintage typewriter. So fun!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Guest books are now used differently, whether it may be a tree and people place their finger prints on the tree to sign in, such a different/unique idea!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Another idea would be to take picture with a "thank you" sign and have them developed into thank you cards!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Having kids activity books for children at the wedding is another great idea gives the kids something to do without being bored at the wedding!

    ReplyDelete
  25. The ring bearer or flower girl can carry a sign that says "Here comes your girl, Here comes the brides, or This is your last chance to run," something different from the traditional the flower petals or the pillow. Also for the flower girl they can carry a flower ball instead of flower petals.

    ReplyDelete
  26. A photo booth with props is a neat addition to a wedding, have the guest put copies of these pictures in book for you to take home and keep for many years to come!

    ReplyDelete
  27. A candy station is a neat idea to have for wedding favors, have your gues fill a bag of the candy that they like to home with them!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Having the "shoe game" at your wedding wear the bride and groom sit in the middle back to back switch one of their shoes with each other and answer questions whether about "who would more likely to do this"they answer with the shoes by holding them up. Neat idea for your guest and can be pretty funny!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Instead of throwing rice or bird seed we plan on using different color ribbons and attaching it to little sticks to have people wave around when we leave.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Love the idea of guest sharing their marriage advice with the couple getting married they can write down and place it in book for the couple to read. Also another idea have each table number write a letter or message for the couple to open up on that anniversary year!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Posing like one of the pictures your parents had taken at their wedding while holding their picture of the same pose!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Taking a picture of 2 or 3 generations of hands! For instance "grandmother, mom, and yours" with all three rings showing.

  34. Have a hankie made for your flower girl to keep with a meassage on it and this way she can keep it when she gets married, this can be her something old!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Get flip flops to sit out at your wedding for the ladies to change into instead of wearing their heels all night!

    ReplyDelete
  36. If you have an outside wedding place sunglasses on a table for you guest and put a sign that says, "Don't be blinded by our love!"

    ReplyDelete
  37. Having disposable cameras at the table and put "I Spy With My Little Camera" on the table for your guest to take pictures of things going on at the wedding for you to keep!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Writing "I do or Just married" on the bottom of your shoes!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Have your bridesmaid that aren't married write a special message on your shoes and whatever one has faded by the end of the night the most will be the one who is next to get married, instead of catching the bouquet!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Having hor dourves at the wedding instead of a full course meal!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Different stations like a nacho station, potato station, dessert station, are a few examples of food for weddings instead of full course meal!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Taking lace from my mama's wedding dress and using it to wrap around my bouquet, part of something old or something borrowed!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Instead of his or her side, put a sign out saying "We're all family, so sit where ever you would like."

    ReplyDelete
  44. On your reservation card have a line that allows your guest to put their favorite song to be played at your wedding!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I've always liked sparklers instead of confetti for the bride and groom exit.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Having a more relaxed "Wedding Brunch" the next morning is a fun idea, too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Going DJ-less sounds a little scary, but if you have a friend you can trust to MC, and a computer with iTunes on it, you can save a LOT of money and avoid any awkward surprises.

    ReplyDelete
  48. This was out of our price range, but see if your favorite restaurant caters! There's this lebanese food place we LOVE and used to go to all the time when we were dating, and we almost had them cater, but then our budget took a hit so we had to change plans. But having food you love with a meaningful touch can be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  49. We're having a "leaf" girl since it's in the fall instead of flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We don't have any traditions in our family really. I'm starting one with mine that I will pass along to my daughter if I have one. (god-daughter if i don't) I bought a beautiful custom haircomb on etsy that I will wear on my wedding day, and pass along in the family. So much more practical than keeping a wedding dress for 40 years!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I like the alternative table "numbers" that I've seen... Names of places important to the couple, their favorite books, or other names that match the wedding theme.

    ReplyDelete
  52. For a while we considered doing clock faces as alternative table numbers, too!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Instead of floral centerpieces, we're doing oil lamps.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I really like the candy buffet favor tables I've seen...with cute apothecary jars and little scoops for guests to pick what they want. So sweet! And it goes nicely with a vintage theme.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Instead of /in conjunction with an aisle runner, I've seen some weddings where they made patterns with rose petals along the ground - so pretty!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Including a locket with pictures of people who couldn't be there wrapped around the bouquet

    ReplyDelete
  57. A hollowed-out book instead of a ring pillow for the ringbearer

    ReplyDelete
  58. Someone importantant who can't be there in person can be there via skype! All you need is a laptop!

    ReplyDelete
  59. We are having our little ring bearer carry down a "bear".

    ReplyDelete
  60. Instead of a traditional flower boquet, I am going to work with my mom to create fabric flowers to arrange in a bouquet. With her know how with fabric and my creativity it'll be fun!! Something that I can keep and treasure for a long time!!
