Miniature Wedding Desserts

We're loving the trend of miniature wedding desserts right now! Not only can they be super cute, but they're practical too! There's not a ton of leftover cake to deal with, and you can customize all different flavors and fillings.

So this week, we're rolling out our top 3 favorite mini desserts we've seen:

First up, the miniature wedding cake!

These are so cute you almost don't want to eat them! You still get the traditional wedding cake look, just in the perfect portion :)

And who says you can't have seconds?!

Herbal Centerpieces as Favors

Fresh Herbs are a fragrant and delicious addition to any home garden and home-cooked meal, but have you ever thought of using them as your table centerpieces at your wedding? If not, you should!

Herbal Centerpieces via Project Wedding

It doesn't take any flower arranging skills, just the willingness to get a little dirt under your nails.

Picture them grouped in all different vintage glass, ceramic, and basket containers on top of pretty lace runners or fabric in your color scheme. Perfect for any Summer or Garden Wedding!

The herbs themselves are inexpensive and you can take your time collecting the containers throughout your planning months.

Little chalkboard signs with notes of thanks for your guests would make these perfect to double as favors as well! Don't you love double-duty details?!

DIY Initial Wreath

Using your initials or monogram throughout your wedding details is so popular now and I was super excited when I found this great tutorial on Scout & Nimble to share with you!

Initial Wreath via Scout & Nimble

Doesn't it create such a stunning pop of color?

Supplies you'll need are: plant trimmings (she used boxwood from their yard), a straw wreath, hot glue gun with extra glue sticks, spray paint in your color palette, wooden letter that fits in the center, and fishing line to attach the letter.

You can get the full directions here.

I think these would be perfect behind your sweetheart table, on the entrance into your ceremony site, or as a dessert table backdrop.

Where would you use them at your wedding?

Bridal Bouquet Idea

I came across this gorgeous bouquet from a real wedding featured on 100 Layer Cake.

Bouquet via 100 Layer Cake

Isn't it gorgeous?! It's made up of pincushion protea, parrot tulips, coral charm peonies, dahlias, ranunculus, garden roses, craspedia, cosmos, scented geranium foliage and passionflower vine. They wrapped it with lace from her dress and included a pendant that was her Grandmother's.

What I REALLY loved however was the bride's idea for preserving her bouquet! She's not getting it preserved in the traditional sense, but she loved her bouquet so much that all she wants for their anniversary each year is for her groom to get it re-created!

Isn't that the best idea?! So romantic!! Even if your bride doesn't request it specifically - wouldn't that make THE most perfect surprise anniversary present from any hubby out there?!

Incidentally, all the flowers from this wedding were stunning - check out the full post here.

And stay tuned later for some other fun ideas from this wedding we thought were too amazing not to talk about as well!

Ribbon Aisle Decor

Have you been stumped trying to find a simple way to spruce up your ceremony site without breaking the bank? Or maybe your location won't allow flowers or anything attached to the pews or chairs?

I came across this simple and beautiful aisle decor idea and thought it would be perfect for so many different brides out there!

Ceremony Aisle Decor via Ruffled

They got yards of ribbon in their color palette and simply tied loose knots, letting the ribbon stream down the aisle. It would work on any type of seating too by simply tying it off in different places. It's easily removed with no damage - so your venue won't mind a bit!

It adds such a pretty pop of color and whimsy! What do you think?

I love the cute sign too - "You've made our future bright, now please do the same for tonight!" It's such a fun way to touch on how much your guests mean to you and looks great visually.

Imagine the pictures from the dance floor with everyone waving them around or as a unique alternative to sparklers for your exit picture.

Do you think this is as fun an idea as I do?

A Wedding Magazine All About You!

One of the main reasons that I LOVE what I do so much is I absolutely LOVE hearing the individual stories that brought our couples together and helping them incorporate those amazing details into their wedding day.

When I came across this blog post on Ruffled about Personalized Wedding Magazines, I had to share it with you!

Twenty Pages is a company who believes each story is unique and meant to be told. They'll take your story, and all the details of your big day - fun and practical,  and turn it into a magazine for your guests!

Twenty Pages via Ruffled

You provide the content and pictures and they take care of all the rest - layouts, design, photo retouching and customization. They'll put it all together for you and then you'll proof the magazine before it goes to print.

It's all done in professional print quality and it's all about you! For an additional charge, you can even add more fun elements like customized games and puzzles or friends and family testimonials.

Honeymoon Registry

We just came across this fantastic idea, and cool new website, on 100 Layer Cake - wanderable.com! It's a really neat idea... If you and your betrothed don't have a need to sign up for sheets, dishes, and mixers, you can choose to have your guests pledge toward your honeymoon!

Here's how it works. First, you customize your free honeymoon page with cute pictures and all the wedding details - with no annoying ads!

Wanderable.com
Then, list the items of your honeymoon that your guests can purchase for you! Like this:

Wanderable.com

How awesome (and stress-relieving), would it be to get your honeymoon taken care of?! Then you could really relax :)

And if you aren't sure where your wanderings should take you, they have a whole community of other honeymooning couples with great ideas to share!

Where are you planning to go wandering on your honeymoon?

DIY Mason Jar Everything!

Lately, it seems like every time I log onto Pinterest there's a new idea involving Mason Jars. It makes sense, considering how easy they are to acquire and how many different things you can do with them!

That being said, we compiled a list of just a few of our favorite Mason Jar DIY details.

For your drinks... Chalkboard labels!

That's right - chalkboard LABELS! How awesome is that?! Sure beats painting them all on. Click here for the information.

For your decor... Use them as Vases!

How pretty are these used as aisle decor at the ceremony?! They work great also hanging from Shepard's Hooks along a walkway. Use a mixture of flowers and tea lights or votives in them to light up a dark pathway from your ceremony to reception.

For your centerpieces...Floating Candles!

The crystals and raffia at give it the perfect touch of fancy, and these couldn't be simpler!

We love the simplicity and ease of use of Mason Jars.
