Bridal Cardigans

This cozy trend has popped up on me a couple of times now, and I keep falling in love with it - Bridal Cardigans!! I just adore how they add a perfect touch of personality to any bridal look.

I'm a Fall type of girl, and smile big when the temperatures begin to dip lower. If you're getting married this time of year though, your stunning - completely gorgeous - strapless gown might leave you wishing for sleeves at some point during the festivities.  Why not reach for something like this?

Complete Vintage amazingness, right?!

You can tailor the trend to any season too! It's the perfect accessory!

You can wear it all day long, add it to your look during a photo-op, or as a quick update for your reception. They make such a fun touch - you can get your bridal party in on the action too!

Isn't it lovely how they can still all be dressed the same for formal pictures and the ceremony and then add on the cardies for a whimsical touch? It's the best of both worlds!

And adorable on your littlest attendants too!

Bridal Cardigans are a fashionable, unique and warm touch to any wedding look - I'm sold on this popular trend! How about you?

Flower Girl Ideas Week: Tutus!

Flower girl dresses can be everything from fashion-forward to simply sweet. The possibilities are truly endless and some of them can get a little costly as well.

We'd like to bring attention to the Tutu option!

Not only are they adorableness beyond measure, but what little girl isn't secretly dreaming of being a ballerina?

Tutus make a great budget-friendly option as well, because you can pair them with a simple leotard or t-shirt and you're good to go. Both pieces are readily available at all different locations and price points, and both pieces have future uses in them. Whether they can be worn to ballet class or just for afternoon dress-up play, you can be assured they'll be twirling in them long after your wedding!

You can even make them yourself! Here's a fantastic tutorial for making your own tutus from Martha Stewart! It's really way easier than you might think and doesn't take much time at all.

I love, love, love this for Flower Girl Fashion!

Flower Girl Ideas Week: Photo Ideas!

Of course you'll get pictures with your flower girls at your wedding, but are you thinking that you might want to do something a little extra special? I found these super-sweet images and went "awww..." at each of them!

This first one's of the bride helping her flower girl touch up her lip gloss. It's such a "big girl" moment and perfect to capture on film!

I thought that this was was SO FUN! :) They look so mischievous and adorable all at the same time!

This one is too sweet for words! Not only do you get a gorgeous shot of your gown and little flower girl, but it would make an amazing future gift for her as well! I love the idea of giving this to her on her own wedding day or at her bridal shower. It's the perfect symbolism for her journey from child to woman as she becomes a wife.

Which idea is your favorite?

Flower Girl Ideas Week: Flower Girls in Boots!

Flower Girls are too adorable for words, right? We agree and decided to dedicate a week of posts to perhaps the cutest element in your wedding.

First up: Boots aren't just for you and your bridesmaids! Your littlest maids can rock them too!

With "Country Chic" hitting the wedding scene big right now, boots are everywhere. We're on board with this trend too! They're easy to walk around in all day, your feet won't hurt after hours of standing, and heels sinking in grass during outdoor pictures or ceremonies are non-existent.  When you add in an adorable little flower girl in tiny boots - perfection!

One tip for your littlest attendants - pairs are a great thing. Not only is it more cuteness to go around, but the buddy system is awesome at helping calm nerves before walking down the aisle. In a case where one or both of your girls are under the age of five, you definitely want them to have a hand (preferably one that's a little older as well) to hold onto. They are more likely to walk down the aisle and remember where to go if they are a part of a team, instead of all alone.

Are you ladies wearing boots for your wedding? How about your flower girls too?

Cute Bridesmaid Photo

The girls you pick as your bridesmaids are your closest girlfriends, most meaningful confidants, and those that you love. It's a really special thing to experience together.

Sometimes though, your typical bridesmaid photos don't do those relationships justice. That's why I thought this was so neat! It captures that glimpse of why these ladies are so special to you.

With simple chalkboard signs, they all wrote where they met the bride. I am loving this! Just looking at the picture would bring back memories of a lifetime of fun.

Where did you meet your bridesmaids? Would you love a picture like this too?

DIY Ribbon Streamers

One of our favorite venues here in Gainesville, Florida is the Historic Thomas Center. The gardens, architecture, and ballroom are just beautiful, and completely unique to Gainesville, making it ideal for a wedding.

That being said, as a historic building, there are restrictions that go with it. One of the biggies that our couples run into frequently is the fact that you aren't allowed to throw anything - no rice, rose petals, confetti, bubbles, sparklers, etc.

We have an amazingly wonderful couple getting married there at the end of the month. They wanted something to help celebrate the BIG KISS and came up with the idea for ribbon streamers for guests to wave. Being the crafty, wonderful, wedding planners that we are, we were on call to help! :)

We thought we'd put up the step-by-step DIY instructions for you too!

Thing's you'll need:

12 inch wooden dowels
2-3 feet of ribbon, per dowel
Hot Glue and Glue Gun
Sharp Scissors

Start by cutting your ribbon into 2 to 3 feet long strands. In this case, we used three thin strands of different colors for each streamer. It would also work with wider ribbon, using one color per dowel.

Since we were using three, we loosely tied the colors together first.

Then we inserted the dowel into the loose knot with the long strands falling out away from the dowel.

Place a dab of hot glue at the top of the dowel and tighten the knot down on top of the glue dab.

Wait a second for the glue to harden and then place a second small dab of glue on top of the knot. It will dry clear and secure the  knot.

Trim the extra ribbon off the end of the knot and you're done!

Our bride's flower girl will hand them out to guests as she walks down the aisle.

Pretty, right? We can't wait for their big day coming up at the end of the month! Check back for the photographs by Pure by Lindsey Photography! We can't wait to show you what our streamers looked like in action!

What special touches are you making yourself for your wedding?
