Courtney & Michael

We are asked often here at MasterPiece Weddings if we do or know how to do Jewish weddings. Take a look at the beautiful wedding of Courtney and Michael, and you will see that the answer is undoubtedly: yes!

Courtney and Michael began their wedding at the Baughman Center, where they took lovely photos roaming the gardens together. On your wedding day, be sure to ask your photographer for some more intimate shots of the two of you to really capture the love from the day.

These bouquets were to die for! Their mixture of fun, vibrant colors and natural beauty added so much life and excitement to the wedding party. Joan Prange outdid herself yet again!

Our friend and make-up extraordinaire Kara Winslow made sure that not a moment went by where Courtney's make-up was not perfect. She worked through the hot Florida heat all day, providing touch-ups and additions. We were in awe of her work! We highly recommend her for your own special day.

The signing of the Ketubah is such a special and intimate moment for Jewish couples. Courtney and Michael's families gathered around as they signed theirs, officially sealing themselves together in Jewish law. We captured their signings here as they stood before their wonderful rabbi, Rabbi Jonathan Cohen.

Rabbi Cohen led Courtney and Michael's family and friends in attendance through the many stages of a Jewish wedding ceremony. Whether they were Jewish or not, he made sure that they understood what was going on and the history behind it. For us, it was a really unique way to experience a ceremony. We came out learning a lot about the Jewish faith, as well as a lot about how Courtney and Michael's journey brought them from college sweethearts to their floral-accented chuppah.

After the ceremony, guests headed over to the Florida Museum of Natural History. While they enjoyed a colorful walk through the museum's famous butterfly garden, we made sure their show-stopping piece for the night was set up: the museum's alternate reality board! Little did guests know, they would be joined by a family of wooly mammoths when they sat down for dinner. What a way to add a little excitement and personality to a wedding, right? Catch me, Rachel, and the museum rentals coordinator, Amber Tison, testing it out here!

Courtney and Michael's first dance was watched by their crowd of guests and the mammoths alike. Here, you can see the lovely detail of Courtney's dress as she swayed with Michael. We are in love with the different fabrics and layers to it. It was the perfect combination of traditional and modern.

We wish the absolute best for this couple of college sweethearts! From the dorm to the aisle, they proclaimed their love to all who saw and got to know them. We were pleased to have the opportunity to know them, and we thank them for letting us share a slice of their special day.

We are grateful to our fantastic vendors for their help:

Lauren & Jeff

I am so pleased to get to share with you Lauren & Jeff's wedding images from the amazingly talented Lindsey Tropf with Pure by Lindsey Photography.

I truly don't know if I've ever coordinated a wedding that had more love present than with this wonderful couple. Love and happiness just oozed out of both of them and their families, making the entire weekend a complete joy for us.

Lauren got ready with her bridesmaids at the University Hilton Hotel. Her dress was a stunning, completely lace gown.

Their wedding took place at the beautiful Historic Thomas Center here in Gainesville FL. It was one of the few to utilize the entirety of the beautiful landscape and gardens at the location. Their ceremony was held under a majestic Oak Tree, with cocktails around the Veranda, Dinner surrounding the Fountain, and Dancing in Turtle Court.

Forage Farm provided the bright and vibrant flowers for the occasion. All of the flowers are grown locally right on Paynes Prairie!

We actually custom painted the directional signs to match the font on their invitations and programs. Another sweet detail - the lace on the ring bearer pillow was lace from Lauren's mom's wedding gown!

Growlers from our local Swamp Head Brewery were a huge hit with guests!

Purple and Green Wedding Inspiration

A hot color trending with many of our brides this season is purple! That deep jeweled toned gorgeousness makes for a truly beautiful event. When paired with a variety of greens - simply elegant and stunning!

Here's our take on this hot color combo:
Ceremony Decor, Table Decor, Boutonniere, Shoes,
Bridesmaids, Cake, Flowers
I love how it manages to be bold and modern, but completely romantic at the same time. And how amazing is that ceremony?! I love the two-toned aisle runner!

Are you using purple at your upcoming wedding?

Donut Wedding Cake

I saw this...LOVED it...made my mouth water! A Donut Wedding Cake!!

Source
I know what you're thinking - the couple got married at Dunkin' Donuts, right? This couple happened to just really not like cake.

I saw it though and thought how perfect it would be for a morning-after-wedding brunch, or a fantastic morning bridal shower.

I just love the little bow-tie for the groom donut too!

This would actually be a really simple way to do a fancy dessert completely DIY. You could rent a cupcake stand and easily stack the donuts around. So pretty!

What do you think? Would you use donuts for your cake or as a great option for a brunch wedding related event?

Ceremony Program Alternative

Love the idea of a ceremony program that lets all your guests know about the important people in your Bridal Party, but don't quite have the budget to spend on getting programs printed? Check out this great idea that we saw on The Wedding Chicks:

Wedding Party Sign via The Wedding Chicks

What a great idea to create beautiful chalkboard sign! We love the song lyrics at the top and custom decor too! You could even include words of thanks to your guests or parents.

What are some other unique ceremony program alternatives you've seen?

Colored Glass Decor

Using colored glass at your wedding can make such a statement. Check out these indigo plates and chargers from our Inspiration Board on Monday - they stand out gorgeously against the white table linens!

A litlle goes a long way, so there's no need to break the bank. Take a look at how only using the deep purple wine glasses sets off the entire table.

Tablescape via Juxtapost
Love the idea of colored glass, but don't want to use it on your tables? This bride and groom collected colored glass bottles and vases throughout their planning months and used them to accent their escort cards. Beaufifully simple and lovely!

Are you using colored glass at your next event? Tell us how!
