Rain on your Wedding Day

Rain on your wedding day is never ideal, but it's something that many couples have to be aware of, especially in Florida. If you are planning a wedding outside, we've got some tips, tricks, and even fun ideas to share with you in case it does end up raining on your wedding day.

Have a Backup Plan

And be realistic about it. If your ceremony and reception are planned outside, make sure that your inside backup location is large enough to accommodate all of your guests.

Be Optimistic

We know that if it rains on your wedding day, it won't be exactly what you've been dreaming of, but you should always make the best of it! The real reason you're having a wedding is to marry the person you love! Did you know that rain on your wedding day is actually good luck? It's because a wet knot is harder to untie!

Be Prepared (In a fun way!)

So maybe it rained in the morning and stopped before your outdoor ceremony, but the ground is still a bit wet and mushy. So you're wondering, "how will my bridesmaids walk down the aisle and take photos in their heels?!" Maybe they don't have to! If you think it might rain on your wedding day, grab some cute wellies for yourself, the groom, and the bridal party, and give them as a gift! Bonus: get a cute picture with you and your bridesmaids in your rain-boots!

Plus, even if it doesn't rain, your bridal party still gets a cute, useful souvenir from your wedding day!

Make it a Photo Op!

So you've got your photo with your rain boots on, now why not use the rain to your advantage with some beautiful photos that wouldn't have been possible without the rain?

We love the photo on the right with the reflection of the couple in the rainwater. And it wouldn't have been possible without the rain!

We've had outdoor weddings where unwelcome rain has made it's way into the day as well. Luckily, our couples took some of these tips and still had fabulous days! Check out this fantastic photo from one of our weddings last year!

We know you can make the best of your day even with a little rain! What do you think about these tips and tricks?

Bridal Cardigans

This cozy trend has popped up on me a couple of times now, and I keep falling in love with it - Bridal Cardigans!! I just adore how they add a perfect touch of personality to any bridal look.

I'm a Fall type of girl, and smile big when the temperatures begin to dip lower. If you're getting married this time of year though, your stunning - completely gorgeous - strapless gown might leave you wishing for sleeves at some point during the festivities.  Why not reach for something like this?

Complete Vintage amazingness, right?!

You can tailor the trend to any season too! It's the perfect accessory!

You can wear it all day long, add it to your look during a photo-op, or as a quick update for your reception. They make such a fun touch - you can get your bridal party in on the action too!

Isn't it lovely how they can still all be dressed the same for formal pictures and the ceremony and then add on the cardies for a whimsical touch? It's the best of both worlds!

And adorable on your littlest attendants too!

Flower Girl Ideas Week: Tutus!

Flower girl dresses can be everything from fashion-forward to simply sweet. The possibilities are truly endless and some of them can get a little costly as well.

We'd like to bring attention to the Tutu option!

Country Tutu via Style Me Pretty
Not only are they adorableness beyond measure, but what little girl isn't secretly dreaming of being a ballerina?

Flower Girls Twirling via Footstone Photography
Tutus make a great budget-friendly option as well, because you can pair them with a simple leotard or t-shirt and you're good to go. Both pieces are readily available at all different locations and price points, and both pieces have future uses in them. Whether they can be worn to ballet class or just for afternoon dress-up play, you can be assured they'll be twirling in them long after your wedding!

You can even make them yourself! Here's a fantastic tutorial for making your own tutus from Martha Stewart! It's really way easier than you might think and doesn't take much time at all.

I love, love, love this for Flower Girl Fashion!

Flower Girl Ideas Week: Photo Ideas!

Of course you'll get pictures with your flower girls at your wedding, but are you thinking that you might want to do something a little extra special? I found these super-sweet images and went "awww..." at each of them!

Flower Girl Make-up Touch-up via Pinterest
This first one's of the bride helping her flower girl touch up her lip gloss. It's such a "big girl" moment and perfect to capture on film!

Flower Girls Hiding Under the Dress via Wedding Party
I thought that this was was SO FUN! :) They look so mischievous and adorable all at the same time!

Flower Girl Looking at Dress via Intimate Weddings
This one is too sweet for words! Not only do you get a gorgeous shot of your gown and little flower girl, but it would make an amazing future gift for her as well! I love the idea of giving this to her on her own wedding day or at her bridal shower. It's the perfect symbolism for her journey from child to woman as she becomes a wife.

Which idea is your favorite?

Cute Bridesmaid Photo

The girls you pick as your bridesmaids are your closest girlfriends, most meaningful confidants, and those that you love. It's a really special thing to experience together.

Sometimes though, your typical bridesmaid photos don't do those relationships justice. That's why I thought this was so neat! It captures that glimpse of why these ladies are so special to you.

With simple chalkboard signs, they all wrote where they met the bride. I am loving this! Just looking at the picture would bring back memories of a lifetime of fun.

Where did you meet your bridesmaids? Would you love a picture like this too?

After Flats - Foldable Shoes!

We've all been there - found the most amazing pair of heels to wear to a special event and then half-way through the night, our feet start killing us and we end up dancing the night away barefoot or in a cheap pair of flip-flops.

That's why when After Flats contacted me and asked if I'd try out their foldable ballet flats, I was super intrigued and said yes immediately!

Here's how they work:

After Flats Steps

Genius, right?! And SO much cuter than plastic flip-flops!

I requested these Snake Skin ones, but they have a variety of other colors as well including, black, white, and silver.
Snake Skin Pair via After Flats

Mine look exactly as pictured and are super comfy when on. I used them last week after a bridal show while we were breaking down our booth - my feet thanked me big time!

I agree that they make a great affordable bridesmaid gift! You can get them in a color that coordinates with their gowns, and a pair for your feet too. They are easy to personalize as well - you can have the outside of the clutch embroidered with their initials, or anything else you like. Your girls will thank you for saving their feet while they are partying!

Bride Wearing Her After Flats
The only issue I found was that I had some trouble stuffing them into the clutch if I tried to fit anything in there with the shoes. I'm not sure how easy it would be to use them as your only bag for a night out if you also need to carry some money, cell phone, or lipstick. I have big feet, so it might be easier with the smaller sizes. :)

The clutch is small enough though to fit in a purse with your other essentials and would be simple stick in your bag and carry with you for the night.

What do you think? Are you as curious as I was? Head over to After Flats website and take a look!

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

It's your turn to ask the question now! "Will you be my bridesmaid?" There are so many ways to ask other than the traditional face-to-face conversation. I saw these two really sweet ideas for how to ask your best friends if they will be your bridesmaid!

Photo via Pinteresting Stuff

Photo via iDoArtsyWeddings on Etsy

I just can't decide which one is my favorite! The necklace is perfect for doubling as the bridesmaids' jewelry for the wedding. She can continue to wear it long after the day is over. On the other hand, the bottle of pink champagne, is another great idea. You can enjoy the bottle together while talking wedding details and making all of those most important decisions - what shoes to wear, dress options, etc.. :)

Help me decide: Which is your favorite? Tell me in the comments!

Bridesmaid Gift Ideas - Day Three

Becoming a bridesmaid is an honor that can sometimes be overwhelming, but in the end, it's an incredible experience that brings friends even closer then they already are.

A great gift idea to help bridesmaids eliminate the stress of keeping track of the wedding festivities is a  planner! This is also a unique way to ask women to be your bridesmaids. Write it on the inside of the planner and mark the BIG DAY in each of their calendars!

Bridesmaid Planner Gift Idea

What girl wouldn't love a cute planner to help them organize not only your wedding events, but also the rest of their year!

Do you think your bridesmaid's would like this idea?

There's a reason why you chose specific girls as your bridesmaids to stand by your side on your special day. Although no one can ever come close to the love of your life, girlfriends are irreplaceable and showing them how much they mean to you is very important.

This week's inspiration is all about these wonderful women in your life, and some creative and cute ways we found to show them how special they are to you. So check out these great finds for fun gifts for your maids!

Give your bridesmaids clutches filled with a schedule, thank you notes, lip gloss, disposable camera, and candy to keep the energy up! Such a cute idea!

I am completely loving this for a cute little Ring Bearer!!!

If it's too casual for the wedding day, consider it for the rehearsal. You'd make any little "big guy" feel like they are the most important VIP with a job title like this (not to mention put a smile on all your guests faces)!

What do you think? Need a little extra security help on your wedding day?
